GIFT GUIDE
I simply love gift guides. Always have. As we approach the holiday season, here are some items that I love. Some of the items are truly sustainable, others, sustainably inclined.
Each item was chosen for its beauty, quality, and for the value that I believe it can add to the lives of others.
I’m a huge proponent of conscious gift-giving. Fewer, better. I encourage you to think about the people in your life and what you could give them that they would truly love.
My hope is to inspire you to think of something creative or different, and something that is perhaps not a "thing" at all. If you choose to buy, do so with care. Select items that last, buy from local artists or craftsmen, and select natural fibers and materials.
Give your love, give your time, and take a moment to know that your choices matter and have an impact.
“Everything you make returns to the Earth as either food or poison”
- Céline Semaan from Slow Factory

Or, a wine tasting, dinner at a new restaurant, or other food-related outing.

A CREATIVE CLASS
Sewing, ceramics, knitting etc etc. Make your own things!

A massage, spa day, or other relaxing, rejuvenating experience.

A membership to a local museum is actually an amazing gift. Support the arts, be the first look at new exhibits, and often receive a free guest pass or other discounted tickets etc!
PLANTS
A plant or a gift card to a local plant or garden store is always a wonderful gift!
TICKETS TO...
Tickets to a concert, comedy show, play, or musical make great gifts. Or, tickets to a fun movie theater with food & snacks (many cities have these now, like Nitehawk in Williamsburg, NYC or Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, TX).
SWEET THINGS
My friend Carmen makes super cool, fun jewelry! Many shapes and ideas have come from her automatic drawing practice.
Protects your phone, protects the planet.
A whole world in itself that I find fascinating. The future will revolve around water. Learning about the ways of water is a top priority for me.
PUBLICATIONS AND MEDICINES FROM HOUSE OF FLOWERS
My Friend Sophia Rose has the most incredible publications. They each hold beautiful knowledge and power and are very fitting for these times. Follow your intuition and gift any and all to your loved ones. Her medicines are BEYOND as well!
SWEET THINGS
I’ve been obsessed with RMS for years. The UnCover Up is the best best best. Their other things are nice as well.
ORGANIC COTTON MESH PRODUCE BAGS
Wayy sweeter than that plastic bag you only use once. Bring these with you and fill with nuts, produce, or anything else that needs to be contained.
Vessels, cups, plates etc from your local or favorite ceramicist. I recently bought a mug from J. DUBOIS in LA and have brought it with me everywhere since.
Cozy up in this Balaclava or better yet, make one yourself.
KITCHENISH
These sweet friends from long-time favorite Ancán.
LOCAL PROVISIONS BASKET
Not to pick favorites, however, this could be a favorite - make or purchase a sweet basket and fill with all the best ocal provisions from your favorite local friends.
I’ve been using random glass vessels for water since I lost my Kinto in 2021 and just invested in this duo. Committed to using my own vessels again after a hiatus kicked off by the pandemic.
Elegant and also natural, these vessels bring something special to the classic water glass.
BATH AND BODY
BATHING CULTURE MIND & BODY WASH
Cult favorite for good reason! And always a nice addition to anyone routine.
THE LYMPHATIC BRUSH FOR FACE & BODY
Love this for a very gentle lymphatic massage.

SHIVA ROSE BEAUTY ROSEWOOD CANDLE
My dear friend Shiva has the most outstanding line of really natural, clean skincare. Her products are top-notch and phenomenal. This candle is such a sweet gift. Made of natural coconut wax and a lead-free cotton wick.
I don’t sleep without one! They help promote deep sleep and hibernation vibes when it's cold outside! Great for trains, planes, and the like.
Love this incense. And the sampler kit is a fun way to try them all.
My gifting go-to for many, many years. A long time love.
ARTISH
POSTERS OR PRINTS
This example is from my internet friend Anna Fusco - she has an amazing print shop! Have a local artist you love? Buy a piece of art, print, or merch for them. from them. If you don't have someone you like, do a little research, or find someone on Etsy etc.
This funny little album “warm earth music for plants… and the people who love them”
